Peripheral Vascular Lab

Peripheral vascular diseases refer to the blockages in the arteries of the brain, kidneys, and legs. Atherosclerosis (the fatty substance that builds up inside the artery) restricts proper blood flow due to the narrowing of the artery. The Peripheral Vascular Lab of La Porte Regional Health System, uses ultrasound to detect arterial abnormalities which can cause irregular blood flow and utilizes the most advanced non-invasive technology available.

Peripheral Vascular LabProcedures performed in the Peripheral Vascular Lab include:
   • Lower/upper extremity arterial doppler
   • Carotid duplex scan
   • Venous doppler
   • Arterial ultrasound of the upper/lower extremity
   • Thoracic outlet testing
   • TCO2 (Transcutaneous CO2/O2 Monitor)

The Peripheral Vascular Lab is accredited by The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). This accreditation acknowledges La Porte Regional Health System’s high level of commitment to providing quality healthcare.
