Oncology Cardiology Psychosocial Program

La Porte Regional Health System now offers the Oncology Cardiology Psychosocial Program to ensure that patients receive the best quality of care possible for the treatment of the emotional and social effects of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Oncology Cardiology Psychosocial ProgramDepression, anxiety, strains on relationships, loss of motivation, ability to keep up on the job and financial burdens are among the psychosocial problems patients often experience. These problems, which typically are not dealt with during treatments, can increase patients’ suffering and compromise their ability to follow through on treatment.

The Institute of Medicine reports evidence-based psychosocial interventions improve overall health and positive patient outcomes. The Oncology Cardiology Psychosocial Program consists of conducting assessments and clinical interventions to support patients in managing their illness and health, and to optimize the patient’s psychological, behavioral and social aspects of their illness by attending to their psychosocial needs. It is our goal to treat all aspects of the patient’s care.
