Special Events
Throughout the year, the La Porte Hospital Foundation sponsors special events for members of our community. The funds generated by these events help support specific initiatives and other philanthropic selections of the La Porte Regional Health System. The La Porte Hospital Foundation continues to provide financial support where it is needed most in our community.

La Porte Hospital Foundation Holiday at the Pops Concert
The 14th annual concert event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the La Porte Civic Auditorium, located at 1001 Ridge St. The doors open at 6 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited to join in on an evening of beautiful symphonic music provided by the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, local soloists and the La Porte Symphony Chorus.
Tickets may be purchased through the Foundation office, La Porte Hospital, 1007 Lincolnway, first floor, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; by phone at (219) 326-2471 or toll free at (877) 265-4539. Cash, check (made payable to La Porte Hospital Foundation) or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express) is accepted.
Main floor seating is now sold out.
Balcony seating is $10 per ticket for adults, and $5 per ticket for children. In the event of a sell out, tickets will not be available at the door.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the event until intermission, or in advance at the Foundation office or on the Web. Raffle prizes include a Nintendo Wii, Angelo Bernacchi Greenhouses gift certificate and many more.
Proceeds benefit the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) Hospice and other philanthropic selections of the La Porte Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of La Porte Regional Health System.
This is the Foundation’s most popular event and last year was a complete sell out! Advanced ticket purchase is highly recommended.

Golf Tournament
The La Porte Hospital Foundation Annual Golf Tournament raised more than $40,000 for student healthcare scholarships and other philanthropic needs.
A full field of 144 golfers and more than 75 volunteers displayed their “swinging” support at the event on Thursday, June 19, at Briar Leaf Golf Club in La Porte.
The tournament, celebrating its twentieth anniversary, included 18 holes of golf with a cart, player gifts, lunch, hole-in-one prizes, exciting contests, post-tournament celebration, prime-rib dinner, team awards and door prizes. Other events included a silent auction and a special trick shot performance by golf pro and entertainer Peter Longo.

The Foundation at Firefly Farm
30th Anniversary Celebration
The La Porte Hospital Foundation celebrated 30 years of caring, giving and growing healthy communities at an event on Saturday, July 12, with the theme of “Turning Possibilities into Realities.”
The celebration included dinner and entertainment, provided by Cripple Creek Band and Dr. Groovy and the Soul Surgeons. The event was held at Firefly Farm in La Porte, a horse farm owned by Foundation board member, John Leinweber.

This year’s August 24 event was outstanding and the weather was perfect! The bike tour and 5K run/walk raised over $28,000 to benefit La Porte Hospital cancer patients and their families in need of financial assistance during treatment. Your efforts to ride, run, and walk in the spirit of those battling cancer was felt throughout the day.
